Microwave Radio Frequency Engineer

Commnet Wireless is seeking an experienced Micowave RF Engineer to provide licensed/ unlicensed MW designs, backhaul solutions, field support, and project management. This position will require strong RF knowledge, troubleshooting ability, analytical skill sets, and overall industry knowledge in order to meet company objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in meeting company and department objectives
• Planning, design, troubleshooting, and optimization of the wireless transport network
• Completion of feasibility studies, preliminary designs, and final designs in a timely manner
• Perform site surveys, line of sight studies, mulitpath analysis, etc in order to provide a quality product
• Add capacity to the network when necessary
• Coordinate PCN’s with clearing house
• Identify potential issues based on notifications (PCN) from other carriers
• File for, manage, and obtain licenses from the FCC
• Provide technical guidance
• Microwave Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstratable experience completely related to microwave transport design, planning, installation, troubleshooting, or optimization
• Must be capable of handling antenna, radio equipment, and test equipment
• Experience in product selection and vendor evaluation a plus
• Proficiency using Pathloss or equivalent path analysis tool is necessary
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, Map Info
• Ability to work multiple projects at one time
• Ability to demonstrate good troubleshooting skills
• Ability to communicate well
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility by attempting alternate solutions to resolve issues and adjust to a dynamic changing business environment
• Ability to work flexible hours including occasional nights and weekends
• Travel is required (approximately 20-25%)
• A valid drivers license is required
